Carrie Schneider

Carrie Schneider

Carrie Schneider’s work in photography and video challenges the camera’s presumed capacity for documentation and exactitude, employing multiple exposures, light bleeds and obstructions to express an associative collection of images. The unique works, generated in a camera hand-constructed by the artist, share an aura of mystery often associated with early experiments in photography, but rediscovered using the visual vocabulary of social media, pop culture and art historical references.

Carrie Schneider (b. 1979, Chicago, IL) lives and works in Brooklyn and Hudson, NY.
